A brief history
The name Altaneve means “high snow,” and it alludes to the wonderful view of the snow-capped mountains you see when approaching our vineyards in Valdobbiadene. This small Italian town, located in the steep foothills of the Dolomite Mountains in northeastern Italy, is renowned for producing the highest quality Prosecco for over 1000 years.
Altaneve is a micro-production Italian sparkling wine company launched by David Noto over a decade ago. With the assistance of multigenerational oenologists and agronomists, Altaneve’s Prosecco and sparkling rosé have been hailed as the best in the world by many reputed wine professionals.
Our wines are created in the hamlet of San Pietro di Barbozza, in the heart of Valdobbiadene, Italy, and we curate every facet of the wine production from harvest to bottling. The unique terroir of the steep foothills of the Italian Alps gives the Glera grapes their distinctive minerality, floral bouquet and exotic fruity undertones. The Altaneve brand merges tradition and innovation, incorporating centuries of heritage, time-tested methods and the latest winemaking techniques. An extended secondary fermentation and fining process, rarely employed by wine producers in the Prosecco category, help to develop our wines’ bouquet and velvety perlage.
We offer Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG wines, Prosecco Treviso DOC and an exclusive sparkling rosé.
